Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Interview
This 1964 interview published in 1965 was the longest that Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. ever granted to that point, and possibly ever. King was a member of the executive committee for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and in 1955 answered their call to lead the bus boycott in Montgomery, Alabama that was kicked off by Rosa Parks. In 1957, he became President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). In this interview, King talked to Playboy about his personal life, the power of non-violence, the church, SCLC, and his feelings about the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
