Lucky Linda

The centerfold for the February 1970 issue, Linda Forsythe was a very different type of Playmate. While socially conscious and outspoken about her belief in challenging the status quo, she deviated from the common perception of being in support of "the hippies" simply because she was young. Openly critical of the rebellious youth movements, Playboy focused not only on her pictorial in this centerfold, but stressed her anti-hippy leanings. As they were focused on opening an avenue for the left, Playboy also never turned away from those who opposed counter-culture. Free speech was free speech, as Hefner promoted in his Philosophy.
